Mr.Ng: I had nightmare...

me: hahaha...what nightmare? ghost?

Mr.Ng: No la...you lah...

me: what? why me?

Mr.Ng: I don't know...can't remember the exact dream, but in conclusion you were so intimate with other people in front of me..damn it...

me: HAHAHAHAH...then why you never scold me inside your dream? HAHAHAHA...poor dear dear *rub rub his head* No worries...only a dream what...in reality, I won't do that...only having affair behind you HAHAHA..joking joking...

Mr.Ng: *give me a sarcastic looked*

Thought of living without you… Once in a while I have bad dreams of not being with you. But it’s also those dreams that makes me wake up and realize how lucky and glad and happy I am that you ARE with me :)——————————————

Sharing: Why we shout in anger

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.

Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said...
'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return. They may end up in divorce courts, for instance.'

Sharing: Bad Luck? Good Luck? Who knows...Future is uncertain

An old farmer used a horse to till his fields. One day the horse ran away, and when the farmer’s neighbours sympathized with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer shrugged his shoulders and replied: “Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?”
A week later the horse returned with a herd of wild mares, and this time the neighbours congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was: “Good luck? Bad Luck? Who knows?”
Then, when the farmer’s son was attempting to tame on of the wild horses, he fell and broke his leg. Everyone agreed this was very bad luck. But the farmer’s only reaction was: “Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?”
A week later, the army marched into the village and drafted all the young men they could find. When they saw the farmer’s son with his broken leg, they let him stay behind. Good luck? Bad luck?
As you see, we can never know. Future is uncertain...

Recipe : Bird's Nest soup (燕窝)

Hulla... Now I'm taking 2 spoons of bird's nest soup every midnight until I deliver this lil one :).
Bird's nests (燕窝)
What is bird's nest soup?
- It is a traditional (like hundred of years) pricey Chinese delicacy although they are only swallow's saliva nests. They are expensive due to the difficulty in harvesting. Bird's nest is very rich in nutrients as it contains the digested food of swallows and they are formed using their saliva.

What is the benefit?
- help to stimulate appetite and aids in digestion
- contains of several proteins and minerals that help develop the generation and growth of human cells
- rejuvenates the human skin, smooth the skin and maintain eternal beauty
- increases the immune system
- contains of the epidermal growth factor
- can alleviate tiredness, relieve spiritual pressure and recover body strength
- good for asthma and who are always catching the cold or flu
- good for smoker as well as it can help to cleanse and rid the lungs of pollutants and toxins

Benefit for pregnant lady (only drink it after 5 months until deliver)
- help to develop baby's smooth skin
[proved by my mom, cause my mom drank a lot of bird's nest soup while she was pregnant me. Now, I have a really good and smooth skin , pinky cheeks, and fair skin (thanks to my mom hehe) - FYI, I never use any blush on and I rarely have pimples :) ]
- boost the immune system for both mom and baby
This is me without make-up :P
When and what is the right portion to eat bird nest soup?
- Bird's nest soup best consume everyday in small portion ( 2 spoons), rather than eat it in big portion once. By doing so, the body can fully utilised (absorb) the bird nest.
- Eat it in the middle of the night or early morning with empty stomach
Our small portion of bird's nest every night :)
Where to get it?
- Indonesia is the largest supplier of Bird's nests in the world. I got mine from my hubby hahaha...cause he also sell it so lucky me :)

How to cook?
uneed
  • Dry yen-wo ( Soak the bird's nest in cold water about half an hour until softened. Usually I will still try to find is there any impurities such as debris and feathers inside, pluck them out using kitchen tweezers)
  • Water ( you can put more water if you like to drink it)
  • red dates ( pluck out the inside little seeds)
  • goji
  • rock sugar

[stepbystep[3][3].jpg]
  1. Clean all the ingredients, drain the bird's nets
  2. Mix all the ingredients and the bird nest inside a big bowl
  3. Double boil it for about half an hour ( I use electric double boilers, so I only need not more than half an hour to cook it)
  4. After cooked, let it cool down and keep it inside the fridge

Sharing: Vietnam Seeds of fresh-water Lotus flower

We went to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam last May 2013, and the first thing my mom's friend told her to buy was their Lotus Seed. And we never know about it until mom's friend mentioned it LOL. So that's the first thing mom was looking for while we were in Ben Thanh Market hehe...

Unfriendly weather when we went there, super HOT.... You can see everyone was holding a fan inside the market. I know the Vietnamese seller try to be friendly whenever they introduce us their products, but please I don't like the way they hold your hand ( and sometimes won't let it go..wth), touch your shoulder...OMG.... Please...I was very hot and sweating like shit (especially for preggy woman, your body temperature will be warmer) and they just easily tap here tap there , tap on your hand or shoulder... MOZARELLLLLLA....Haizzzz

Ok enough for the complain...OK back to our lotus seed's topic
This lotus seed tastes really nice, crunchy and tasty... more like nuts. I never thought about its benefit until I went google on it. And surprisingly, this little seed has a lot of medical values... *Woohooo*

My Lil Store: Gold Plated Accessories

Recipe: Homemade Durian Pancake/Crepe

Knock...knock...It's a Durian Season Now... Durian is everywhere...*wooohoooo*.

Let's make our own Homemade Durian Pancake at home. In my hometown, Medan, the price is quite pricey...for 1 "small" (when I say small, it is really smallllll.... damn it) pancake costs at least Rp8,000 (SGD1.00). [FYI: Nasi campur (main couse) only costs about Rp5.000/pack in my howetown, so let's you do your own comparison lol]

uneed

For Crepe:
  • 70gr all purposes flour
  • 10gr cornstarch
  • 40gr castor sugar
  • 250gr milk
  • 20gr salted butter
  • 2 eggs yolk
For fillings
  • Durian flesh ( you may substitute mango for durian)
  • 150ml fresh cream- whipped until soft peak forms
[stepbystep[3][3].jpg]
For Crepe:
  1. Melt the butter together with half of the milk + sugar
  2. Set aside from the stove, pour the egg yolk inside and whisk to mix well
  3. Sieve all the dry ingredients in other bowl, and pour the wet ingredients inside. Mix... mix...mix well
  4. Cover the batter and stand for at least 1 hour
  5. Pour a scoop of the batter in the centre of the non-stick pan ( do not add oil) and move the pan around the batter to coat the side
  6. Once the colour changed and batter turn hard, crepe is ready and remove it immediately. You don't need to flip it, just fry for one side only.
How to prepare the Homemade durian pancake:
  1. Add 1 tbsp whipped cream in the centre of the crepe, and followed by durian flesh on the top ( or you can mix the whipped cream together with the durian flesh in other bowl)
  2. Wrap the crepe gently and store in fridge for better taste. Enjoy your Homemade Durian pancake :)

Sharing: Marriage Advice : A letter for all husband

Found this in facebook...hope you enjoy...

A letter for all husband...

Obviously, I’m not a relationship expert. But there’s something about my divorce being finalized this week that gives me perspective of things I wish I would have done different… After losing a woman that I loved, and a marriage of almost 16 years, here’s the advice I wish I would have had...

1) Never stop courting. Never stop dating. NEVER EVER take that woman for granted. When you asked her to marry you, you promised to be that man that would OWN HER HEART and to fiercely protect it. This is the most important and sacred treasure you will ever be entrusted with. SHE CHOSE YOU. Never forget that, and NEVER GET LAZY in your love.

2) PROTECT YOUR OWN HEART. Just as you committed to being the protector of her heart, you must guard your own with the same vigilance. Love yourself fully, love the world openly, but there is a special place in your heart where no one must enter except for your wife. Keep that space always ready to receive her and invite her in, and refuse to let anyone or anything else enter there.

3) FALL IN LOVE OVER and OVER and OVER again. You will constantly change. You’re not the same people you were when you got married, and in five years you will not be the same person you are today. Change will come, and in that you have to re-choose each other everyday. SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO STAY WITH YOU, and if you don’t take care of her heart, she may give that heart to someone else or seal you out completely, and you may never be able to get it back. Always fight to win her love just as you did when you were courting her.

4) ALWAYS SEE THE BEST in her. Focus only on what you love. What you focus on will expand. If you focus on what bugs you, all you will see is reasons to be bugged. If you focus on what you love, you can’t help but be consumed by love. Focus to the point where you can no longer see anything but love, and you know without a doubt that you are the luckiest man on earth to be have this woman as your wife.

5) IT’S NOT YOUR JOB TO CHANGE OR FIX HER… your job is to love her as she is with no expectation of her ever changing. And if she changes, love what she becomes, whether it’s what you wanted or not.

6) TAKE FULL ACCOUNTABILITY for your own emotions: It’s not your wife’s job to make you happy, and she CAN’T make you sad. You are responsible for finding your own happiness, and through that your joy will spill over into your relationship and your love.

7) NEVER BLAME your wife If YOU get frustrated or angry at her, it is only because it is triggering something inside of YOU. They are YOUR emotions, and your responsibility. When you feel those feelings take time to get present and to look within and understand what it is inside of YOU that is asking to be healed. You were attracted to this woman because she was the person best suited to trigger all of your childhood wounds in the most painful way so that you could heal them… when you heal yourself, you will no longer be triggered by her, and you will wonder why you ever were.

Allow your woman to JUST BE. When she’s sad or upset, it’s not your job to fix it, it’s your job to HOLD HER and let her know it’s ok. Let her know that you hear her, and that she’s important and that you are that pillar on which she can always lean. The feminine spirit is about change and emotion and like a storm her emotions will roll in and out, and as you remain strong and unjudging she will trust you and open her soul to you… DON’T RUN-AWAY WHEN SHE’S UPSET. Stand present and strong and let her know you aren’t going anywhere. Listen to what she is really saying behind the words and emotion.

9) BE SILLY… don’t take yourself so damn seriously. Laugh. And make her laugh. Laughter makes everything else easier.

10) FILL HER SOUL EVERYDAY… learn her love languages and the specific ways that she feels important and validated and CHERISHED. Ask her to create a list of 10 THINGS that make her feel loved and memorize those things and make it a priority everyday to make her feel like a queen.

11) BE PRESENT. Give her not only your time, but your focus, your attention and your soul. Do whatever it takes to clear your head so that when you are with her you are fully WITH HER. Treat her as you would your most valuable client. She is.

12) BE WILLING TO TAKE HER SEXUALLY, to carry her away in the power of your masculine presence, to consume her and devour her with your strength, and to penetrate her to the deepest levels of her soul. Let her melt into her feminine softness as she knows she can trust you fully.

13) DON’T BE AN IDIOT…. And don’t be afraid of being one either. You will make mistakes and so will she. Try not to make too big of mistakes, and learn from the ones you do make. You’re not supposed to be perfect, just try to not be too stupid.

14) GIVE HER SPACE… The woman is so good at giving and giving, and sometimes she will need to be reminded to take time to nurture herself. Sometimes she will need to fly from your branches to go and find what feeds her soul, and if you give her that space she will come back with new songs to sing…. (okay, getting a little too poetic here, but you get the point. Tell her to take time for herself, ESPECIALLY after you have kids. She needs that space to renew and get re-centered, and to find herself after she gets lost in serving you, the kids and the world.)

15) BE VULNERABLE… you don’t have to have it all together. Be willing to share your fears and feelings, and quick to acknowledge your mistakes.

16) BE FULLY TRANSPARENT. If you want to have trust you must be willing to share EVERYTHING… Especially those things you don’t want to share. It takes courage to fully love, to fully open your heart and let her in when you don't know i she will like what she finds... Part of that courage is allowing her to love you completely, your darkness as well as your light. DROP THE MASK… If you feel like you need to wear a mask around her, and show up perfect all the time, you will never experience the full dimension of what love can be.

17) NEVER STOP GROWING TOGETHER… The stagnant pond breeds malaria, the flowing stream is always fresh and cool. Atrophy is the natural process when you stop working a muscle, just as it is if you stop working on your relationship. Find common goals, dreams and visions to work towards.

18) DON’T WORRY ABOUT MONEY. Money is a game, find ways to work together as a team to win it. It never helps when teammates fight. Figure out ways to leverage both persons strength to win.

19) FORGIVE IMMEDIATELY and focus on the future rather than carrying weight from the past. Don’t let your history hold you hostage. Holding onto past mistakes that either you or she makes, is like a heavy anchor to your marriage and will hold you back. FORGIVENESS IS FREEDOM. Cut the anchor loose and always choose love.

20) ALWAYS CHOOSE LOVE. ALWAYS CHOOSE LOVE. ALWAYS CHOOSE LOVE. In the end, this is the only advice you need. If this is the guiding principle through which all your choices is governed, there is nothing that will threaten the happiness of your marriage. Love will always endure.

In the end MARRIAGE isn’t about Happily ever after. It’s about work. And a commitment to grow together and a willingness to continually invest in creating something that can endure eternity. Through that work, the happiness will come.

Marriage is life, and it will bring ups and downs. Embracing all of the cycles and learning to learn from and love each experience will bring the strength and perspective to keep building, one brick at a time.

These are lessons I learned the hard way. These are lessons I learned too late.

But these are lessons I am learning and committed in carrying forward. Truth is, I LOVED being married, and in time, I will get married again, and when I do, I will build it with a foundation that will endure any storm and any amount of time.

If you are reading this and find wisdom in my pain, share it those those young husbands whose hearts are still full of hope, and with those couples you may know who may have forgotten how to love. One of those men may be like I was, and in these hard earned lessons perhaps something will awaken in him and he will learn to be the man his lady has been waiting for.

The woman that told him 'I do', and trusted her life with him, has been waiting for this man to step up.

If you are reading this and your marriage isn’t what you want it to be, take 100% responsibility for YOUR PART in marriage, regardless of where your spouse is at, and commit to applying these lessons while there is time.

MEN- THIS IS YOUR CHARGE : Commit to being an EPIC LOVER. There is no greater challenge, and no greater prize. Your woman deserves that from you.

Sharing: Qi Xi Festival 七夕節

Hulla...today is 13.08.13 (wow I like the number lol) which also the seventh day of the 7th lunar month (Double Seventh Festival), known as the Qixi Festival. It's a Chinese Valentine's Day

This love story has been told again and again when I was a child. My mom used to tell us the story...

One evening, seven daughter of Goddess who are bored, had just escaped from heaven to look for fun.
Niulang was a poor orphan cowherd who live together with his only friend old magical cow. The magical cow told him of a way to find a beautiful wife so they went to the riverside on that evening, where the seven fairies were having bath (perverrttttt.... >.<)

He took one of the beautiful silk dresses that the fairies had left on the bank. When the fairies finished their bath, the youngest fairy ( Zhi Nu 织女) couldn't find her clothes and had to see her sisters fly back to heaven without her. Suddenly this Niulang came out with the dress and asked Zhi Nu to stay with him. (Notty Niulang...ck ck ck... Zhi Nu bo huat so need to stay with him hmm...)

As you know several years on Earth is equivalent to only few days in heaven. On Earth, Niulang ang Zhi Nu lived happily with their two children. Zhi Nu proved to be a wonderful wife, and Niulang to be a good husband. But the Goddess of Heaven ( Wang Mu Niang-niang 王母娘娘) found out Zhi Nu's absence. She was so annoyed she had Zhi Nu brought back to heaven. Seeing his beloved wife flying in the sky, Niulang was terrified. He grabbed the cowhide that hanging on the wall.( The magical cow had told him before dying of old age: "Keep the cowhide for emergency use")

Putting the cowhide on, he went after his wife along with two children. The Goddess of Heaven suddenly showed up and pulled off her hairpin to draw a line between the two. The line become the Silver River in heaven (milky way). Sadly, Zhi Nu went back to the heavenly workshop, weaving the clouds. All the clouds that she weaved seemed sad. The Goddess of Heaven, decided to let them unite once on the seventh day of the seventh month as she was touched by their love for each other.

In China, this festival is quite important especially for single women who wish for her own Prince Charming to enter her life. But in by-gone days, this festival is also known as the "Begging for Skills Festival" or "Daughter's Festival"

In the past, single women or young girl would conduct a ceremony to beg Zhi Nu for wisdom, dexterity and a satisfying marriage. They offered fruits and pastries, if spiders were seen to weave webs on sacrificial objects, it was believed Zhi Nu was offering positive feedback.

People say that on this day it will rain, because of the crying in heaven.(surprisingly here was raining this morning and gloomy the whole day ). Others say that if you stand under grapevines on that night, you can hear the lovers talking ( are you sure?? lover's talking or "brothers' talking"as it's still a hungry ghost month...creepy...)

Check out the google game...so cute

Anyway, Happy Chinese Valentines Day
~will tell this story tonight to my lil one since he can hear me now hehe :)

To all Muslim Friends, Wishing you and Your Family A Happy Idul Fitri...
May All Happiness belong to you :)

** Malay Muslims in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore have adapted the Chinese custom of handling out monetary gifts in envelopes as part of Hari Raya Celebration. But instead of red packets, they use green envelopes instead)

Recipe : Pandan Leaf Chicken (Moo Hor Bai Toey)

Saw someone eat this pandan leaf chicken on one of his travelogue TV and make my saliva drop in the middle of the night *jialat*. Curious on how they prepare it, then I search on how to make it in youtube. Since I still have chicken breast in my fridge, so I decided to have a try the next day for our dinner.

uneed
  • pandan leaves
  • chicken breast
  • 1 1/2 tbs soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar
  • pepper
  • 2 tbs sesame oil
  • 1tbs coriander seed (crush) / coriander root
  • 3 / 4 gloves of minced garlic

stepbystep
  1. Cut the chicken breast in a big chunks and marinate them with all the ingredients. Best marinate it at least 1 hour
  2. Wash and clean the pandan leaves
  3. Carefully wrap the marinated chicken with pandan leaves. Tru to pull it tighly so that the chicken won't shrink when we fry it (I've got a lil bit trouble in doing it at the first time hahaha...but all worth it :) )
  4. Cut the excess pandan leaves from the wrapped chicken
  5. Steam finished wrapped chicken for about 15mins
  6. Heat the oil and the wrapped chicken ready to put into the medium heat oil
  7. Fry fry fry until it turn golden brown. Drain dry
  8. Ur pandan leaf chicken is ready to be served :)
Below is the video :)
