Recipe : Bacon spinach quiche


Weekend especially Sunday is our super duper lazy day where we love to stay at home…sleep till noon…watch movie at home…and go out (if necessary) on nite time ( sounds like vampire :P). So we try to cook every Sunday for our brunch so we can enjoy our day at home :D ~ HomeDay
20.03.11 ~ I cooked Bacon spinach quiche + Nachos + Mushroom cheesy white sauce with spinach gnocchi

Bacon spinach quiche

  • 7 ounces spinach
  • 2 large eggs
  • Puff pastry (I use the frozen one – save time :P)
  • 2 strips Bacon + chicken sausage
  • Cheese : parmesan and mozzarella
  • options : button mushroom and onion ( sauté it with butter first and garlic) and 3/4 cup milk or 2 tsp condensed milk ( I forgot to put milk on my quiche but it tastes great :D)

  1. Unfrozen the puff pastry and preheat the oven 170 C.
  2. Steam the spinach with salt water, drained it and coarsely chopped
  3. Cook the bacon and sausage till crispy. While whisk the egg mixtures along with spinach, salt and pepper(options: put along with the cooked mushroom and onion and milk together)
  4. When the puff pasty is unfrozen, lightly butter it and roll the pastry on the oven pan. Gently pinch and press it into the bottom and side of the pan.
  5. Bake the pasty on the central oven rack for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove it from the oven and set it on a cooling rack for a while
  7. Slowly fill he mixtures evenly in the pastry shell and sprinkle the crispy bacon and sausage and cheese on the top of it.
  8. Bake the quiche at 170C on the centre oven rack for about 50 minutes until golden .
  9. Serve warm and enjoy the healthy yet yummy bacon spinach quiche :D
